Adrian Gilbert Cardenas Arrested for Indecent ExposureBusch Gardens Williamsburg is a popular theme park in Virginia developed by Anhauser-Busch, the famed beer company, and owned by SeaWorld Entertainment. Normally, the main attractions at the park include its European-themed sections, distinctive landscaping, and award-winning roller coasters. It does not usually include nude men traversing its parking lots, but on Friday night, that did seem to be the center of attention. Adrian Gilbert Cardenas, a 21-year-old member of the U.S. Navy, was arrested on Friday for intentional damage, indecent exposure, assaulting an officer, and obstruction of justice, sources say. Cardenas is reportedly out on an unspecified bond. It is not clear whether he has hired a criminal defense lawyer. Reports indicate that the incident took place on Friday, October 13 during park hours. Cardenas was allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time, and was traversing the parking lot in the buff, trying to get into cars in the parking lot. Theme park patrons were reportedly in some of the vehicles that Cardenas attempted to enter. After someone contacted law enforcement, Cardenas allegedly became aggressive, fighting with bystanders before striving to flee on foot. An officer caught up with him, and video footage taken by a civilian at the scene shows a naked man grappling with a police officer. The officer eventually sits on the man, purported to be Mr. Cardenas, and handcuffs him. “That’s what you get,” a bystander can be heard shouting. Then things go awry as the suspect breaks free of the officer’s grasp. “Officer, do you need help?” asks a man, stepping into the camera’s view. A crowd of bystanders then help the officer regain control of the nude suspect, who is heard shouting incoherently in the video. “He got tased!” says the voice of someone off-camera. After the arrest, Cardenas was reportedly taken to the hospital before being booked into jail. It is not clear what kind of medical attention he received. His BAC was also not reported. “…He was intoxicated by alcohol and illegal narcotics,” Steve Rubino, James City County deputy chief, reportedly told the press. Cardenas is a sailor who works on the George H.W. Bush, an aircraft carrier, news sources indicate. It does not appear as though the Navy has publicly commented on the incident at the time of publication.
